Second Step is a program that will be implemented in your child's Head Start Classroom. The goal of this program is to build your child's social skills and self-esteem by giving her/him tools to solve everyday problems. Children who learn and use the skills presented in this program are more likely to get along with other people and do better in school. The Second Step lessons are divided into three areas:
Children learn to: Identify feallings (happy, sad, mad, scared...) Predict how other people feel (by reading faces, body language) Show others they care (by responding to others' feelings)
Children learn to: Solve problems Perform social skills (sharing, taking turns...)
Children learn to : Calm down Redirect their feelings in more positive ways If you have any questions please click on contact information and feel free to contact the Area Manager - Kristen Mazzuchelli |
