Recruitment and enrollment of children into the program starts in the spring for the following school year.   N.E.M.C.S.A. Head Start is part of the Big Rapids Preschool Partnership.  

This partnership includes Focus On Fours, a state-funded school readiness program as well as Mid Michigan Community Action Agency.  

This Partnership's main goal is to ensure an appropriate preschool placement for as many children in the district as possible.  

NEMCSA Head Start and BRPS Focus on Fours achieve this goal by doing joint mailings and holding enrollment round-ups together.  

The Partnership also plans a variety of workshops and family nights during the school year for enrolled families in the programs.
